Meet our Physical Therapists
David E. Ebbecke, PT, DPT, MBA, OCS, Cert. DN Physical Therapist / Founder and Co-Owner
Since 1997, David has been helping individuals in Prince William County overcome pain and disability. Following in the footsteps of his dear friend and mentor, David S. Mizener, David took ownership of Piedmont Physical Therapy, Inc. (formerly Mizener, Ebbecke & Associates) in 2009, and continues to see patients in the clinic daily.
David had his sights set on a career in the healthcare field from a young age. He chose physical therapy after witnessing the positive impact it had on his father who was suffering from a painful shoulder injury at the time.
Drawing from an extensive background in orthopedics and sports rehabilitation, David integrates his skills as a manual therapist and exercise specialist to assist patients in living a life without pain and reliance on pain medication. He has published articles on avoiding and managing common musculoskeletal injuries. Since joining the FYZICAL franchise in 2019, David has developed a strong interest in treating patients with balance and vestibular disorders.
For nearly 25 years David has enjoyed the physical and emotional benefits that running brings. His current favorite spot is Manassas Battlefield, especially in the company of friends like Dave and Zach.

- Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) certification in 2006 recognizing advanced clinical proficiency in orthopedic physical therapy practice.
- Took ownership of Piedmont Physical Therapy, Inc. in 2009.
- Certified practitioner in Trigger Point Dry Needling from Kinetacore, 2013.
- Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) Level III golf fitness instructor certification (Medical), 2014.
- Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner (CFMP) from Functional Medicine University (FMU), 2018.
- Certified Vestibular Specialist (AIB-VR), 2021.
- Post-Concussion trained through Complete Concussion Management Inc. in 2021.
Gin Yang, PT, DPT, Cert. DN, CSCS Physical Therapist / Co-Owner
Gin received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Virginia Commonwealth University in May of 2018. He has completed clinical affiliations in various outpatient orthopedic settings and emphasizes manual skills, therapeutic exercises, and patient education to decrease pain and regain function. Gin is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
As an avid athlete, Gin has interest in various sports. He experienced a knee injury playing basketball and was referred to physical therapy due to long bouts of unsuccessful recovery. Through physical therapy he became pain free and was able to fully participate in sports again. This process became a catalyst in choosing physical therapy as a career path.
Gin places high value on quality 1-on-1 time with a patient and making a positive difference each session. He believes finding the underlying cause of pain is essential in creating a specific plan of care catered towards the individual.

Samantha L. Schambach, PT, DPT Physical Therapist & Clinical Director (Manassas & Gainesville Offices)
Samantha is a graduate of the Doctoral program from Shenandoah University in December 2020. While there, she assistant coached the university's volleyball team. She is a local to the Manassas area, graduating from Osbourn Park High School.
Samantha's focus is to further her knowledge and skills in manual therapy, sports medicine, and vestibular rehabilitation with emphasis on post-concussion rehabilitation protocols.
From Samantha: "FYZICAL Therapy and Balance Centers Manassas has been a long-time home for me as those who work there helped me to fall in love with the physical therapy profession thanks to multiple volleyball injuries. After undergraduate school, I worked at the clinic as a PT technician, and now as a physical therapist.I have grown with them and hope to offer the same or better levels of care to my patients that they provided me with when I was a patient.
Samantha enjoys spending time in the outdoors and playing volleyball.

Paul Choi, PT, DPT Physical Therapist
Paul received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Quinnipiac University (CT) in January of 2016. Paul is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
Paul's interest in physical therapy began in high school where he was an avid weightlifter and high school athlete. His curiosity and love of learning led him to the quest of learning everything he can about the human body, movement, and fitness.
After his formal education, Paul has completed multiple clinical affiliations and job opportunities centered around orthopedics and manual therapy. He has sustained a passion in providing quality care and improving functional outcomes for all of his patients. He firmly believes that the secret to successful rehabilitation is the empowerment of his patients in addressing their pain, dysfunction, and functional mobility. Paul leaves no stone unturned to ensure that his patients leave Fyzical's doors happier, healthier, and stronger.
In his personal time, Paul is also a personal trainer where he strives to work with his clients and the local community to improve their fitness goals.
Paul continues to enjoy working out in the gym, eating good food, volunteering at his local church, and improving his pickleball game.
Joseph Park, PT, DPT Physical Therapist
Joey received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Old Dominion University in May of 2023.
Joey is native to the Northern Virginia area and currently lives near the Shenandoah region. He played multiple sports in high school including tennis, wrestling, and basketball. Joey chose to pursue his undergraduate at Virginia Tech and graduated in 2020. During his undergraduate years, he began to develop a strong interest in weightlifting. This newfound passion, coupled with various opportunities of shadowing experiences, ultimately led him to choose a career path in physical therapy. He earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree in 2023 from Old Dominion University. Joey is passionate about orthopedics with an emphasis on manual therapy and sports rehabilitation. He firmly believes in quality patient care, patient education, and getting people back to what they are passionate about. In his free time, Joey loves enjoying quality time with his family and friends, playing basketball, weightlifting, and playing video games.

Kathryn Hurley, PTA Physical Therapist Assistant
Katie (Knodt) Hurley graduated from Auburn university in 2012 with a Bachelors in Kinesiology and minor in Communications. She furthered her education at NVCC Medical Campus and graduated in 2017 as a licensed PTA.
Katie has been an active member in the Physical Therapy field since 2012 ranging from PT technician to front office coordinator. Katie has a strong educational base for working with people of all ages and backgrounds, ranging from young adult to geriatric populations, focusing on recovery from various level of injury to regaining functional abilities to return to prior level of function and lifestyle. Katie also enjoys snowboarding, wakeboarding and volunteering at adaptive sports foundations in the DMV.
Douglas Bell, PTA Physical Therapist Assistant
Doug is a 2018 graduate of Northern Virginia Community College with an Associate of Applied Science degree as a PTA. With a lifelong interest in physical fitness, health, and nutrition, he became attracted to a career in physical therapy after watching the tremendous improvement in mobility and function his uncle made during PT, following a stroke.
Doug considers being a PTA a unique calling of service to the community. He combines his knowledge of manual therapy and therapeutic exercise while partnering with patients to eliminate pain, reach their goals, and achieve optimal health outcomes.
With a history of service-oriented work (32 years at UPS), he strives to help people improve their quality of life, working to find solutions to physical challenges so they can return to activities that are important to them, whether it is going back to work, participating in sports, or simply playing with their grandkids.
An avid outdoorsman, Doug enjoys bicycling, camping, fishing, and kayaking. He also devotes his time to volunteering for the Shenandoah Mountain Rescue Group. Doug lives in Manassas with his wife, Linda.
Mark Kerlin, PTA Physical Therapist Assistant
Mark (they/them) is a licensed physical therapist assistant with a unique background. A former DC bicycle messenger, they worked in IT for a leading medical non-profit organization for sixteen years. Their life changed dramatically when they suffered severe injuries in a car accident; and spent months in a wheelchair. Recovering alongside a disabilities advocate who had permanent waist-down paralysis, Mark formed a life-enriching friendship. This friendship inspired Mark to overcome their challenges and become a state-champion bicycle racer. Mark gained a powerful perspective on living with and recovering from injuries, which they apply to their work as a physical therapist assistant. Mark’s commitment to compassionate and personalized treatment of all patients reflects that resilience and dedication. Mark is also a passionate problem solver who enjoys teaching patients how to optimize their exercises and achieve their goals. They graduated near the top of their class, are a loving father, and an active leader in several communities. They enjoy continuing education opportunities and are currently very passionate about treating hips as a means to reduce back pain, and enhance patient balance and mobilty.

Kemberly Castillo, Physical Therapy Technician
Kemberly graduated from George Mason university receiving her degree in Kinesiology. She has over 2 years of experience a a physical therapy technician. "I enjoy being a tech because of the bond you form with the patients and knowing that I was apart of a journey to help them get better/ get accustomed to their new life changes. I am currently a certified doula and soon to be entering a midwifery program! On my free time I enjoy drawing, yoga and going on hikes with my dog Max."

Jaqueline Perdomo, Physical Therapy Technician
Jaqueline is currently in school to become a physical therapist assistant and will be graduating May 2025! "I enjoy my position as physical therapy technician because the role allows me to connect with patients and witness their progress throughout their recovery which is incredibly rewarding. I get to be a part of a team that helps people regain their independence, mobility, and confidence, which feels extremely meaningful and is why I am passionate about this career field!"
Olivia Sanders, Client Care Specialist
Olivia is currently attending NOVA pursuing an associates degree in Psychology, and is hoping to continue at George Mason University to complete her Bachelors/Masters in Forensic Psychology. She enjoys working as a Client Care Specialist because it gives her a chance to meet and interact with new people. Outside of work and school she enjoys going to movies, concerts, festivals, and traveling with friends and family.
Sara Awan, Client Care Specialist
Sara is originally from Queens, New York, and as a client care specialist, she am dedicated to providing a warm and welcoming experience for our patients. She assists with scheduling, ensuring, positive communication and making sure patients feel supported throughout their visit. Outside of work, Sara enjoys travelling and spending time with family and friends.
Nicole Manthey, Billing Specialist
After several years as a stay at home mom, I decided to rejoin the workforce after finding FYZICAL Therapy and Balance Centers Manassas. It is great to be a part of this unique office and to work with such knowledegable and caring people. I am happy to answer your questions, plan for appointments, help resolve concerns and make your visits positive. It is important to me that each of you enjoy a feeling of ease and confidence in our office.
Jennifer Garman, LMT Licensed Massage Therapist
I graduated from the Heritage Institute in 2003. For the past 17 years I have expanded my skills to include Advanced Myoskeletal techniques, Orthopedic massage, Certified in Myofascial Release, Lomi Lomi, Gentle Massage for Children with Special Healthcare Needs, CranioScacral Therapy, Lymphatic Drainage and I am a Reiki Master. I have always loved working with people to help with their healing on all three levels, body, mind and spirit. True healing has to be approached from all these levels, and my wish is to meet you on each level and bring you the highest level of healing possible.
